Originally, I had decided to include Elyse’s best friend Demi as an absent character. However, as I began development and slowly added more narrative into the prototype, it became apparent that she needed to be present due to playing an important role within Chapter Five. This is due to the plot of Demi’s mental health spiralling ending in a hospital stay being extremely difficult to convey appropriately to the player without the use of imagery. Therefore I altered scene B accordingly, to include an emotional dialogue conversation between Elyse and Demi just before her passing, to reinforce their close relationship.
